You will need:
4-5+ Lemons
A lemon juicer (a fork also works quite well)
Sugar
Water
Two small cups the same size
A knife
A mixing bowl
A kettle
A sieve
A funnel
A bottle with lid
- Wash your hands.
- Find a small cup. Children’s plastic drinking cups are perfect.
- Put a funnel in the cup.
- Cut the lemons in half.
- Use a juicer or a fork and your hands to squeeze the lemon into the cup. Don’t worry about the seeds.
- Squeeze enough lemons until you have filled up the cup. You can now put it to one side
- Fill the other cup ¾ with sugar and pour into a mixing bowl.
- Boil the kettle and carefully fill the cup with boiled water and pour this into the mixing bowl.
- Stir the water and sugar until the sugar has dissolved.
- Set aside and leave to cool for 15 minutes.
- Take the lid off of your bottle and put the funnel in it.
- Ask a friend to hold the sieve over the funnel and carefully pour the lemon juice through the sieve and into the funnel. The sieve will catch any seeds.
- Once all of the juice is in the bottle, take away the sieve and pour the water and sugar mix into the bottle.
- Take away the funnel and put the lid on the bottle tightly.
- Shake to mix!
- You’ve made a syrup but it needs to be diluted before you drink it. You can add tap water or fizzy water. Add 3 cups to the bottle or mix it as you go along.
Enjoy!
